Roots kitchen by Heima Architects for Kongacph

Dezeen Showroom: Lithuanian kitchen brand Kongacph worked with Heima Architects on a kitchen made from oak that combines heritage-informed design with functionality.

The Roots kitchen references traditional, historic wooden kitchens with its handcrafted components while retaining modern standards of performance and contemporary aesthetic tastes.

Roots is made from oak wood and veneer

“The Roots kitchen creates a unique bridge between the past and present, making the kitchen a functional yet beautiful space for modern homes,” said Kongacph.

“Influenced by the simplicity and durability of Scandinavian design principles, the Roots Kitchen focuses on clean lines, minimalism, and high-quality materials designed to withstand the test of time.”

The joinery displays the hand-made quality of the kitchen

The designers describe the kitchen as ‘timeless and trend-resistant’ thanks to its durable materiality and handcrafted elements.

Its solid oak and oak veneer finishes create a warm, homely atmosphere, while its smooth silhouettes have an air of elegance.

As well as the base units, the system includes a matching dining table and bench.
