ACX chair by Antonio Citterio and Vitra for JEB Group
Dezeen Showroom: Swiss furniture brand Vitra has created a task chair with a “distinctly non-technical appearance” distributed by Chinese office furniture collective JEB Group.
Vitra worked with Italian designer Antonio Citterio to develop the ACX chair, which comes in three iterations that share a homely aesthetic, with hidden ergonomic mechanisms to ensure support for users.
ACX chairs come in three versions, each with a distinct upholstery style
According to the brand, the chair is up to 100 per cent recyclable depending on the version selected and is made up of 60 per cent recycled materials.
“The construction, materials, production, logistics and maintenance of ACX are designed to achieve a long-life cycle with the smallest possible carbon footprint,” said JEB Group.
The black base, frame and arms can be combined with a range of fabrics or leathers
“With its automatic synchronised mechanism, the compact ACX offers maximum comfort for every user – while exhibiting a distinctly non-technical appearance,” the brand continued.
The chairs come in three iterations that feature different seat and backrest materials – the Mesh model is finished with a translucent fabric that encourages air circulation, Soft has a padded finish that has an appealingly cushioned appearance and Light has a woven cover and comes exclusively in black.
Meanwhile, Mesh and Soft are available in green, blue, red and neutral fabric options as well as leather.
